Porsche fans will love this new bad boy recently revealed last week in the UK. It’s the new 911 GT3 R and it’s been developed for the racing series based on international FIA GT3 regulations. The car succeeds the 911 GT3 Cup S and is for sale to interested race teams – if you have about $400K lying around.

The car weighs just 2646 lb with a later 4.0 liter six-cylinder box engine. This is good for 480bhp. Some new features include an anti-lock braking system, traction control and an electronic throttle with ‘blip’ function on the gearbox for aggressive downshifts. Porsche’s main focus for the car was to deliver better driveability and easier handling.

On the exterior, the arches are flared more aggressively to achieve a wider track. The car also comes with LED tail lights, new rear diffuser and adjustable rear wing.

The suspension is also improved with more adjustability. The front uses MacPherson struts with variable Sachs two-way shocks and double coil springs. The rear features a rigid sub frame with an adjustable multi-arm axle. It uses the Sachs two-way shocks and double coil springs as well.

Like the 911 GT3 Cup and 911 GT3 RSR, the Porsche 911 GT3 R is designed and built by the Porsche Motorsport Department at the company’s Weissach Development Centre. First deliveries to customer teams around the world begin in the spring.
